NTU X-Campus Leisure Run
I know NTU is hilly.
But I didn’t know it’s that hilly after I ran, mostly jog, part of it’s perimeter in the NTU X-Campus Run.
The run fit nicely in my Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 10km Masterplan schedule.
Though I wasn’t really bargaining for the hills.
The only incline training I’ve ever had was running up the slope of the overhead bridge.
So to suffer continuous inclines followed by steep declines spelled trouble for my faulty knees.
Hey I’m a fat pakcik and every fat pakcik has creaking knees.
But overall it was a great experience since the surrounding and environment is totally new and refreshing.
If only they have flattened the whole area when NTU was first built, then can I surely achieve the average 7.00 min/km I was hoping for this run.
To top it off, I had to walk all the way back to the Lecture Theater to retrieve my valuables.
Another oh well.
Anyway, the Nike+ 10km Human Race is coming up this Saturday and according to schedule, I will be treating it as an EZ run.
So my pace will be the famous “smell flower pace”.
Thank you note:
A small thank you to my petite personal bodyguard security guard for staying back so late and keeping my valuables safe. Next time I’ll treat you to a cuppa wokay?
I run for the goodie bag. Nothing else matter.
Prim and proper while waiting for the commencement of the race
A Peeping Tom's view of the NTU's field being renovated for the Singapore Youth Olympic Games
The mandatory safety and route yada-yada before the run.
The Fat Pakcik's number tag for the run. (Notice my fat doraemon hand?)
Finally the prove that I did run; my sore sexy legs after the run, and no, I don't have a foot fetish.
